Fees for new compositions are set in consultation with you, based on the specific scope and requirements of the commission.
As a guide, an original unaccompanied choral work is typically AUD $905 (~$600 US) per minute of music
Scores (and parts, if needed) are provided as PDFs by email.
MP3 file can be supplied upon request, for an additional fee, AUD $50 (~$30 US)
Figures are exclusive of typesetting fees. -
Benjamin is an experienced orchestrator for film, show, big band and classical orchestra ensembles.
Orchestration fees follow the Musicians’ Union minimum rates and vary depending on the size of the ensemble.
Example:
-String quartet (3-6 players): AUD $11.00 per bar (~$7.15 US)
-Big Band (15-27 players): AUD $17.05 per bar (~$11 US)
-Symphony orchestra (60+ players): AUD $22.82 per bar (~$14.18 US)Figures are exclusive of typesetting fees.
Final scores and parts are delivered by email as PDFs on or before the agreed date.

The fee for a standard vocal arrangement is AUD $905 (~$600 US), though this may be higher for an especially long or complex commission.
Your score will be sent by email as a PDF by the agreed date. A rehearsal MP3 track to make the learning process easier may be provided for AUD $50 (~$30 US).
A piano reduction may be included in the score for an additional fee.
Figures are inclusive of typesetting fees. -
Typesetting fees also follow Musicians’ Union minimums:
-Single instruments/stave: AUD $9.18 (~ $6.20 US) per page
-Double stave: AUD $18.34 (~ $6.20 US) per page
-Triple/Multiple staves: AUD $27.59 (~ $18.64 US) per page
Fees for full symphonic scores are arranged by negotiation.
